Through our established horse trekking business Quantock Trekking, we have built a fantastic reputation for providing arguably the best horse riding/trekking in the West Country. Trip Advisor awarded us a Certificate of Excellence in 2017 for our great reviews. With the introduction of riding holidays, customers can now enjoy short riding breaks staying in our new purpose-built lodge, giving them a chance really soak up the beautiful scenery and atmosphere.
“Each day consists of 4-5 hrs of riding over varied terrain, with stunning vistas”
Our escorted treks consist of 4-5 hrs of riding per day, taking you through a variety of scenery and terrain such as traffic-free country lanes, dales, forests and open hills with multiple canters. Experienced, informal guides will always make you feel welcomed and in safe hands. At the end you’ll be lead to a warm welcome at the local gastro pub The Rising Sun, a great place to relax with your horse riding friends, and only stumbling distance from your lodging. Children are most welcome provided they are accompanied by an adult and are at least 14 years of age.
“We have horses to suit a range of abilities and weights”
Our horses range from cobs, ponies and Irish sports horses of varying sizes; they are fit, safe, forward-going and are used for both novice and experienced rides. They have a varied life, spending their time outside in 50 acres of fields, coming down to their stables every morning for breakfast! We have horses that will carry most weights but our weight limit is 16st/101kg. You will need to be reasonably fit and be able to mount and dismount unaided, especially when at the pub lunch stop!
We can accommodate non-horse riding guests (a minimum of 4 people in the party must be riders). The Quantocks are home to fantastic mountain bike trails, walking tracks and an abundance of flora and fauna.
